Annual Meeting and Cookout

Highlights from the 2011 Annual Meeting:

  • Unanimous vote to dedicate and name the new ramp for Elmer Barth.
  • Kudos to Gary Champion “Ramp Repair Project Lead” for doing a great job with the ramp.
  • All Board members (up for re-election) and Club Officers were elected to serve another term.
  • Extensive discussion about the proposed Associate Membership.  In the end, the membership voted in the negative on this issue.  This may come up again in future years.
  • Also, extensive discussion on the 1st By-Law amendment brought forward by Gary Champion this was also voted down.  This may also come up again in future years.
  • Chief Paul Nikas and his officers touched on new boating and mooring regs and answered many questions from the membership.  These new regulations can be found on the Ipswich Police website.
  • Gary Champion, noting the time and the cold & wet conditions decided to rescind his other amendments to a later date.
  • Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the cookout, under less than desirable weather conditions.

Despite rainy, wet and raw conditions we had great attendance and much participation from the membership on all matters brought forth from the board and members.  It was a long meeting as there were many items to consider.  Many thanks for all those who attended and stuck it out. It was a true testament to the passion our members have for their club.
