April 2, 2013 Board Minutes
The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at The Windward Grill, Essex, Ma. Commodore Clapp called the meeting to order at 6:46 pm. All IOC officers and directors were present.
The minutes from the previous meeting on March 5, 2013 were approved.
The minutes from the previous special meeting on March 12, 2013 were approved.
Secretary’s Report:
- Membership counts as of 3/5/13-

- $40,320 collected so far in 2013.
- Member Robert Waldner passed away. The secretary sent a letter to the family to inquire about his membership and offer condolences. No response yet.
- One waiting list member not responded yet. The secretary will contact him again.
- Three new applications: Chris Saulnier, David DeGrappo, and Matt Bodwell all with appropriate paperwork. Motion to add them to the waiting list, seconded, and approved.
- A thank you was received by the Lombard Family.
The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Checking Account $15,386.96
- Investment Account 33,431.44
- Total $48,818.40
- One check bounced for a leave of absence.
- The budget is right on target.
The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Vice Commodore’s Report:
- The brush burn party was successful.
- Float launch date: Sunday, April 27th at 12 noon.
- Float repairs and upright test being planned in April.
The vice commodore’s report was accepted as submitted.
Old Business:
- Motion to go into executive session, seconded and approved.
- Motion made to come out of executive session, seconded, and approved.
New Business:
- Nominating committee: Perry Paone to coordinate.
- A discussion was held on board meetings for the summer due to vacations.
- Annual meeting give-aways? Rick Tucker to get tide chart quotes, Dave Morin to get koozie quotes.
- The Coast Guard safety check will be at the annual meeting.
- Next meeting will be on May 7, 2013 at the home of Rick Tucker at 7pm.
- Motion made to adjourn the meeting at 7:45pm, seconded, and approved.
