April 3, 2018 — Board Minutes

The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at The Hart House Restaurant, Ipswich, Ma. Commodore Wright called the meeting to order at 6:50 pm. All IOC officers and directors were present except for Liz Lombard.

The minutes from the previous meeting on February 6, 2018 were approved as submitted.

Secretary’s Report:

  • Mailbox and email box clean.
  • All paid regular members have been sent stickers and hangtags.
  • All bills have been given to the treasurer.
  • The database has been updated as members renew.
  • Membership counts were discussed. After discussion, motion made to send invitations to the first four people on the waiting list, seconded, and approved. In 2019, junior members will be contacted to join if there is turnover.
  • Two scholarship essays have been received so far.
  • US Department of the Interior wants to spray the pepperweed from the IOC embankment. This was approved.

The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • Checking Balance                               $36,944.28
  • MMCH balance                                    29,830.53
  • Total                                                    $66,774.81
  • Loan balance                                       $29,200.93

A large discussion ensued on the property dispute-Executive session

Vice Commodore’s Report :

  • The property is good.
  • Float launch planned for Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 10:30 am.
  • Tide charts and koozies will be ordered for the cookout. Tide charts will be ordered at year end from now on.
  • Rick Tucker to coordinate the shed porta potti.

The vice commodore’s report was accepted as read.

Old Business:

  • Covered under treasurer report.

New Business:

  • Next meeting  May 1, 2018 at 7 pm at the St. Lawrence Literary Society.
  • Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 pm, seconded, and approved.
