June 2, 2015 – Board Minutes
The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at the home of Steve Clifford, Ipswich, Ma. . Commodore Wright called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm. All IOC officers and directors were present except for Perry Paone and Rick Tucker who were excused.
The minutes from the previous meeting on May 5, 2015 were approved with an amendment.
Secretary’s Report:
- IOC packets were distributed to the directors for security.
- Application from Jonathon Garcia rec’d with proper paperwork. Motion to add to the waiting list, seconded and approved.
- The email and mailbox are clean.
The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Checking Account $ 8,254.16
- MMCH Account 47,601.46
- Total $55,855.58
- Loan balance is $57,019.46- 6 years left
- Member list has been audited-1 member needs to pay after returned check
- A capital plan was discussed for a 5 and 10 year plan.
The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Vice Commodore’s Report:
- The cook-out went very well despite the weather. $33 under budget and about 130 people were served. Thanks to all who helped. A possible social committee was discussed.
- New parking sign was made and other signs are being worked on.
- New burgees are in $15 each.
- Possible burgee stickers were discussed for member’s cars.
- The moorings are in.
The vice commodore’s report was accepted as submitted.
Old Business:
- Scholarship fund- there is interest but no applications yet. They are due 7/1/15.
- Motion to take July board meeting off until August due to vacations, seconded and approved.
- Next board meeting will be 8/4/15 at 5pm at the IOC property. Cookout or beach trip planned.
- Additional flowers are being planted at the IOC’s river edge in memory of Elmer Barth and Ron Cameron.
- Estimates will be obtained for new floats.
- Ramp has been washed and will continue to be washed over the season.
- Complaints from members has initiated a committee assigned by the commodore consisting of John Soininen, Steve Clifford, and Joe Wright to conduct an investigation.
New Business:
- Many members have requested koozies.
- Motion to spend up to $1000 for a new refrigerator and freezer for the IOC, seconded, and approved.
- People swimming off the IOC docks need to be asked to leave.
- Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9 pm, seconded, and approved.
