March 8, 2016 — Board Minutes

 

The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at the home of Liz Lombard, Ipswich, Ma. Commodore Wright called the meeting to order at 7:21 p.m. All IOC officers and directors were present except for John Sioninen, who was available via conference call.

The minutes from the previous meeting on February 9, 2016 were approved.

Secretary’s Report:

  • Membership counts:
    • RG      200 (need 208)
    • LO       22
    • DR      9
    • JR        7
    • WL      53
    • HM      3
  • Renewals total $37,735 in revenue. We need to fill 8 membership spots. Some members cancelled their memberships and some went on LOA.
  • A junior membership application was rec’d by Tom Herron with necessary paperwork. Motion to place as junior member, seconded and approved.
  • A request was rec’d to transfer a membership to a son. Motion to transfer membership, seconded, and approved.
  • The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • Checking Account           $35,568.62
  • MMCH Account              29,675.45
  • Total                               $65,244.07
  • Meeting with Dwight Thompson for transfer went very well.
  • Loan balance $49,958.40

The treasurer’s report was approved as submitted.

Vice Commodore’s Report:

  • The property is good. No winter damage.
  • The ramp was cleared of rocks.
  • Granite blocks need to be replaced (hit by plow?).
  • Dave Horrigan will grade the loading area.
  • Float launch Friday, April 29, 2016, at 6pm.
  • The shed will be painted before the annual cookout.

The vice commodore’s report was accepted as submitted.

Old Business:

  • A large discussion was held on guest passes. Steve Clifford and Dave Morin presented new guest pass form and policy. The new passes will be in triplicate and cost $10 to fund the scholarship fund. The new policy will be voted on at April meeting.
  • Scholarship applications were discussed.
  • Cookout date will be Saturday May 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. Rain date Sunday May 23, 2016.
  • The 60th anniversary clothing will be ordered through Serengraphics.
  • The new floats will be constructed. Everyone meet at the IOC on Saturday, March 19th at 2 p.m. to flip the docks and determine build. Many options were discussed.
  • Dave Morin to contact the dockmaster to inquire about intentions to work.

New Business:

  • Next board meeting will be on April 19, 2016, at The Hart House, Ipswich, Ma. At 6 p.m.
  • Steve Clifford is working on the sign for the IOC shed with 60th anniversary announcement.
  • The Ipswich Waterways Advisory Committee was discussed. Dave Morin applied as the IOC representative. There will be about 9 meetings per year.
  • Motion made to go into executive session, seconded, and approved.
  • Motion to come out of executive session, seconded, and approved.
  • Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 pm, seconded, and approved.
