May 3, 2016 — Board Minutes

The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at the home of Rick Tucker, Ipswich, Ma. Commodore Wright called the meeting to order at 7:25 pm. All IOC officers and directors were present except for Donald Clapp and John Sioninen.

The minutes from the previous meeting on April 19, 2016 were approved.

Secretary’s Report:

  • Membership counts:

  • Membership now full, waiting list is open.
  • Application rec’d from Chris Tsoutsouras with proper paperwork. Motion to place on the waiting list, seconded and approved.
  • The cookout mailer was completed.
  • The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • Deferred to June meeting.

Vice Commodore’s Report:

  • The docks are in.
  • Sign for shed will be hung before the cookout.
  • Dave Horrigan will grade the loading area.
  • The flagpole rigging will be replaced.
  • The trim on the shed is being painted.
  • Diamond plate for the docks is being worked on.
  • Loam will be spread by the light pole and seeded.
  • The ramp will be washed soon.
  • The vice commodore’s report was accepted as submitted.

Old Business:

  • Cookout date will be Saturday May 21, 2016 at 1 pm. Rain date Sunday May 22, 2016. The IOC Board will run the event.
  • The guest pass policy and new forms were approved.
  • Tide charts are in and will be distributed at the cookout and by the dockmaster.
  • Five scholarship applications have been rec’d. Motion to give each applicant a $300 scholarship, seconded, and approved. A scholarship jar will be placed at the cookout. A large discussion on future scholarships took place.
  • Dave Morin has been appointed to the Ipswich WAC and will attend the first meeting on May 11, 2016.

New Business:

  • Next board meeting will be on June 7, 2016, at the IOC parking lot.
  • Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 pm, seconded, and approved.
