October 4, 2016 — Board Minutes
The Ipswich Outboard Club Board of Directors held a regular meeting at the home of Steve Clifford, Ipswich, Ma. Commodore Wright called the meeting to order at 7:22 pm. All IOC officers and directors were present except for Donald Clapp and Rick Tucker.
The minutes from the previous meeting on September 13, 2016 were approved.
Secretary’s Report:
- A Ipswich WAC report was given.
- The new lawn mowing contractor was discussed. More things are being trimmed and mowed.
- The Ipswich River clean up event went very well.
The secretary’s report was approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Checking account $16,680.47
- MMCH account 29,718.98
- TOTAL $46,399.45
- Loan balance $44,318.79
- A discussion was held on budget and capital expenses.
- A brainstorm session was held on expense ideas to be brought up at the annual meeting.
The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Vice Commodore’s Report:
- Steve Clifford and John Sioninen met with North Shore Marine to inspect the ramp. Grout is chipping away but not structural issue. Panels in great shape. $3000 to re-grout if wanted.
- No swimming signs installed on the ramp.
- Possible lot improvements were discussed.
- Shed clean out completed and clothes available.
- Float haul, Friday 10/21/16 at 4pm.
The vice commodore’s report was accepted as submitted.
Old Business:
- Ipswich Illumination was a success.
- Halloween party being planned for 10/31 at the club property.
- A new database was discussed at length. Motion made to hire new database web based service for $70 per month, seconded and approved.
New Business:
- Next board meeting will be on November 8, 2016 at the home of Dave Morin at 7 pm.
- New flagpole is being looked at.
- Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 pm, seconded, and approved.
